How many times have you parked your car at home and then realize that you didn’t lock it after you walked away? Now Nissan is making it easier for you to lock or unlock your car without having to leave your couch, thanks to Amazon Alexa.
Nissan owners can now use voice commands to remote lock/unlock, honk the horn, flash the lights and start or stop the engine. The Alexa connectivity will work with 2016, 2017, 2017.5 and 2018 Nissan models that are equipped with NissanConnect Services telematics. The long list includes, the Altima, Armada, GT-R, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, and the Titan. The 2018 Nissan Leaf will eventually get the technology as well.
“Intelligent integration means helping our customers even when they are not behind the wheel,” said Dan Teeter, director, Vehicle Connected Services, Nissan North America, Inc. “We are about bringing unexpected innovations to customers, and are excited to offer this technology to both existing and new Nissan owners.”
