We’re now a month away until the debut of the new 2018 Nissan Leaf, but we already have a bit of news about Nissan’s second electric car. Nissan has already confirmed that it’s working on a new electric crossover and now it’s being reported that it could be named the Terra.

According to Autocar, Nissan recently filed paperwork to trademark the Terra name in Malaysia. The Terra name was first used for an electric SUV concept five years ago and it’s expected that it will be the name of the new electric crossover.

The Terra is also expected to share its platform with the new Leaf, although it could get a second electric motor at the rear to give it all-wheel drive.

It’s not known when the Nissan electric crossover will debut, but for now the new Leaf is scheduled for its debut on September 5. Nissan has already confirmed that it will be lower and more aerodynamic.
