We’ve been waiting patiently for the arrival of the next-generation Nissan Z and although Nissan recently gave us a teaser of the new Z, it didn’t confirm an arrival date. AutoExpress claims that the new Z, which will reportedly be called the 400Z, won’t debut until 2022 before it goes on sale in 2023.

Earlier this year Nissan revealed its new strategy, called “Nissan Next: From A to Z,” which will see the arrival of 12 new models in the next 18 months. The Z is part of that plan, but the plan actually runs to the end of Nissan’s 2023 fiscal year, which closes on March 31, 2024.

If the report is accurate, that means that the 400Z will arrive 14 year after the 370Z arrived.

The Nissan 400Z is expected to be based on Nissan’s Front Midship platform, which is the same platform that the 370Z is based on, plus the Infiniti Q50 and Q60.
