Nissan has already confirmed that it’s working on the next-generation Nissan Frontier, but Nissan hasn’t released any big details about the new truck. Well a new report from Autoblog may provide some details about what we can expect when the 2021 Frontier debuts.

2019 Nissan Frontier

Sources have revealed to the publication, that the next-generation Frontier will get an exterior that looks close to the larger Titan. It’s being reported that the next Frontier will also ride on a modified version of the Titan’s chassis.

If you’re wondering what will power the next Frontier, the report claims that it will be powered by a new 3.8-liter V6 that will replace the current 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 4.0-liter V6 engines. The new V6 will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Sources also claim that the new V6 is more efficient than the outgoing four-cylinder and one source claims that it will generate over 300 horsepower.

In addition, the 2021 Frontier will also move a bit more upscale, which means that the King Cab body style will also likely be discontinued, leaving only the four-door Crew Cab version.

If these reports are accurate, we could see the 2021 Nissan Frontier debut this fall with sales beginning in February 2021.
