Nissan Invitation Concept Revealed Ahead of Geneva Debut

Nissan has unveiled the Invitation concept, which is our first look at Nissan’s next B-segment hatchback, which will launch in the UK in 2013.

The Invitation concept is a preview of the next Nissan Note and according to Nissan the concept ” is an energetic design, bringing fresh style, innovation and excitement to the mainstream market.”

François Bancon, Deputy Division General Manager of Product Strategy and Product Planning Division, said: “The name we have given to this concept is self-explanatory. It is designed to be inviting thanks to its sensuous exterior design and generous and comfortable interior space, cleverly packaged within compact overall dimensions.”

Nissan hasn’t released the official specs for the concept, but Nissan expects it to achieve be at the top of its class in terms of fuel efficiency and emissions. Nissan is aiming for an ultra-low CO2 emission target of under 100g/km for the most frugal model and with all versions eligible to wear Nissan’s Pure Drive badge.

The Invitation also gets Nissan’s Around View Monitor, which helps ease reversing and parallel parking. The concept also incorporates the Nissan Safety Shield Technologies, which interacts with the driving environment keeping the driver aware of what is happening around the car. The Invitation concept will be officially unveiled next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
