Nissan is determined to keep its GT-R supercar at the top of its game. The 2012 GT-R that is now in showrooms, and that was unveiled at the end of last year got a nice bump in power to 530-hp and 480 lb-ft. of torque. Now it’s being reported that Nissan will add more power to the GT-R one more time before it is replaced.

Before the current GT-R heads off stage, Nissan is going to release one final model that will reportedly put out 30 more horsepower for a total 560-hp from the twin-turbocharged 3.8L V6. To make things even more exciting, a Spec R version is also supposed to be in the works that will be 70 pounds lighter.

When can we expect the even hotter GT-R? It looks like the earthquake in Japan has postponed its launch by several months.
