Motor Trend is reporting that Ford is working on a next-generation Lincoln Navigator SUV, which will likely see its current V8 engine replaced with Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost V6. The Lincoln Navigator is facing some stiff competition from models like the Mercedes-Benz GL and this fall a new Cadillac Escalade will arrive.
It hasn’t been confirmed when the new Navigator will arrive and if it will still be offered with a V8 as well. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine generates 365-hp and 410 lb-ft. of torque, which is already more than the current V8 at 310-hp and 365 lb-ft.

Motor Trend is also claiming that even though the Navigator will most likely only be offered with the turbocharged EcoBoost V6, its platform mate, the Ford Expedition will continue to get both V6 and V8 engines.
