It’s been almost a decade since Jeep released the current Jeep Grand Cherokee and now we know when the next-generation Grand Cherokee is going to debut. Ralph Gilles, FCA’s head of design recently announced that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is going to debut later this year.

According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, Gilles revealed the news about the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee during a Facebook live event on Wednesday. During the event he told the audience that the current Grand Cherokee is “getting on now, and we’re about to replace it later this year.”

FCA hasn’t released any big tidbits about what we can expect for the next-generation Grand Cherokee, but a plug-in hybrid version is expected. Production is expected to kick off in the first half of 2021. There’s also a chance that the new Grand Cherokee will share its platform with Alfa Romeo, specifically the Stelvio SUV.
