Jaguar continues to expand its lineup with the new E-Pace SUV and electric I-Pace, but one model that we haven’t heard much about lately is the XJ flagship. Jaguar has yet to reveal when a new XJ will arrive, but Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum recently confirmed that a new XJ is in the works.
Ian Callum recently spoke to Car Magazine, where he stated, “We’ve gone through a lot of debate on the XJ and come up with something quite special. “As we work on the next one [XJ], I’ll make sure it holds onto the values of the first one and the latest one.”
Obviously that little blurb doesn’t reveal much about the new XJ, but at least it confirms that Jaguar is interested in keeping the big sedan around. We don’t know when the next-generation Jaguar XJ will debut, but one thing is for certain, it will not be revealed as part of the XJ’s 50th anniversary celebration next year.
“I won’t say when it’s coming but it’s not next year.”
