Lexus is going to officially unveil the 2013 Lexus GS 350 sedan next month at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Although the past three generations of the GS have only been offered in sedan variants, Lexus is reportedly considering a coupe version of the fourth-generation GS.

Ben J. Mitchell recently told Inside Line, “”I’d like to do a coupe. We’re really trying to increase the emotional qualities of our brand. We want to emphasize exterior styling and dynamics.”

Lexus’ external communications vice president also stated that Lexus does want to expand its current lineup, “Lexus has aspirations to have a full model line and global reach.”

Lexus currently doesn’t offer a fixed roof coupe. The closest thing currently in the Lexus lineup is the IS convertible with its retractable hardtop. If Lexus does give the GS coupe the green light, the coupe won’t arrive before the spring of 2013.
