Ford has announced that the automaker is finally going to bring a new small car to the US that will be smaller than the Ford Focus. The next Ford Fiesta is going to share its platform with the recently introduced Mazda2.

The Verve concept is going to debut next month at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Ford claims that the concept is a “significant hint” at the final design of Ford’s new small car that will be sold in North America, Europe and Asia.

The next Fiesta will hit showrooms in Europe at the end of next year and should arrive in North America and Asia between 2008 and 2010.
