2008 Saturn Astra Will Start at $15,995…Better than the Old Saturn Ion?

The Saturn Astra is one of more of the exciting new GM models that is going to be offered for 2008. Basically because the Astra that we will get here is essentially the same as the Opel Astra sold in Europe. The Opel Astra is one of the most popular small car in Europe.

Saturn’s website has a mini-brochure for the 2008 Astra that contains all of the pricing and options that are available on the new car.

Pricing Details (without options):
-5-door XE (5-speed manual) – $15,995
-5-door XE (4-speed automatic) – $17,320
-5-door XR (5-speed manual) – $17,545
-5-door XR (4-speed automatic) – $18,870
-3-door XR (5-speed manual) – $18,495
-5-door XR (4-speed automatic) – $19,820

-A/C is a $960 option on the base XE
-Dual-Panel Sunroof =$1,000
-Premium Trim: Leather seat surfaces, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats with manual lumbar, premium door insert and door lighting = $795 on the 5-door XR and $745 on the 3-door XR.
-Sport Handling: 17″ five-spoke machined alloy wheels, Stabilitrak and lowered sport-tuned suspension with quick-ration electro-hydraulic power steering.
-Advanced Audio: Six-disc CD/MP3 player, seven premium speakers with seven-band equalizer and enhanced Driver Information Center display = $595.

Are these prices a little too high for a Saturn?

At least the new Astra is so much better than the crappy Saturn Ion!
