Acura killed the RSX in 2006, so its current smallest car is the TSX. There has been new interest in small luxury hatchbacks brought on by the Lexus CT200h, Audi A3 and upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class. It looks like Acura is planning on bringing back the RSX in the near future.

According to sources the new RSX will be powered by a version of the 2.4L i-VTEC engine that powers the recently launched 2012 Civic Si. The 2.4L will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and helical LSD. We haven’t seen any spy photos, but sources claim that it will have an interior inspired by the current Civic Type R, that isn’t offered in the U.S. The exterior will be a sharp, wedge shape.

Honda is reportedly also working on a new C-segment sports coupe that will borrow its hardware from the Accord.
