The MINI Clubman is the big news for MINI this year (pictured above), but MINI has something else in the works. We’ve already discussed earlier this year the possibility of a new MINI SUV (or SAV as BMW likes to label their crossovers) as the fourth MINI model. Well now more details on the upcoming MINI SAV have surfaced.
The new MINI SAV codenamed Colorado is going to enter production by the end of 2010 and is going to be built by Magna Steyr who currently builds the BMW X3 crossover (the next-gen X3 will be built in the US). About 80,000 of the new “go anywhere” MINIs will be produced.
The MINI SAV will also share its platform with the upcoming BMW X1 SAV.
