Cars continue to get more expensive each year and at the same time automakers have pretty much left the small subcompact segment, making it harder for first time buyers to get a new car. The Mitsubishi Mirage is one of the few cars left that has an easy to swallow price tag, but sadly it’s not going to be around much longer.
Automotive News is reporting that sources have revealed that the Mirage five-door and four-door Mirage G4 models will be gone from Mitsubishi’s US lineup by 2025. Mitsubishi has not confirmed what the future holds for the Mirage, but according to Mitsubishi Motors North America spokesperson Jeremy Barnes said the Mirage is not going anywhere for the time being: “It’s a vehicle that we still see as having a role in our portfolio at this time. It fulfills the role of an entry-level vehicle.”
A replacement for the Mirage is reportedly not planned, which will leave the Outlander Sport as Mitsubishi’s entry-level model.
