Mitsubishi has reportedly delayed work on the next-generation Outlander and Outlander Sport models as the automaker looks for ways to share parts with Nissan. The news is an obvious blow to dealers who have been begging for new product and the first negative of the new Mitsubishi-Nissan pair up.
The next-generation Outlander was supposed to arrive by early 2019, but it’s now delayed until late 2019 or early 2020. The next Outlander Sport has reportedly been pushed back until after 2020.

Although Nissan has officially taken over Mitsubishi, both automakers have a long haul ahead of them to bring Mitsubishi back to life. The delay of both SUVs is not the best decision, since both the Outlander and Outlander Sport are in need of a major update to compete. In the meantime Mitsubishi is going to start selling the new Eclipse Cross crossover soon.
