MINI is paying tribute to one of the icons from its past, the 1275 GT with the debut of the 2021 MINI Cooper 1499 GT.

The MINI Cooper 1499 GT comes exclusively in Midnight Black Metallic with gold 1499 GT side stripes. The exterior also gets a Piano Black grille frame, door handles, headlight rings, and black taillight rings. The 1499 GT also gets the front and rear bumpers from the John Cooper Works version, plus its side skirts, split level spoiler and door entry plates.

The MINI 1499 GT also gets 17” Track Spoke Black wheels.

Under the hood there’s the 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 134 hp and 162 pound-feet of torque, that can be mated to either six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.


Inside the MINI Cooper 1499 GT features John Cooper Works Sports seats in Carbon Black Dinamica/Cloth, a John Cooper Works steering wheel in perforated leather with Chili Red stitching and Piano Black finishing throughout the interior with an Anthracite Headliner.
 
The MINI 1499 GT is priced at $27,040 plus the $850 destination fee.
