Convertibles and small cars are having a hard time, since buyers prefer crossovers and SUVs. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that the MINI convertible will soon be discontinued in the United States.

2021 MINI Cooper S Sidewalk Edition

Automotive News is reporting that MINI plans to end production of the two-door convertible when production of the current generation ends in February 2024. In 2019 MINI only sold just over 4,000 convertibles in the US, which was down 25 percent from 2018. The MINI convertible and Clubman sit at the bottom of MINI’s sales charts.

So for now, if you’re a fan of the MINI convertible, you have just over two years to get it.
