The X-Class concept is borrows its platform from Nissan. Mercedes hasn’t released all the specs, but did reveal that the top spec models will be powered by a V6 diesel that will be mated to the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The X-Class will be able to tow up to 7,000 pounds.
Even though its basic bones have been borrowed from the Nissan Navara, on the outside you’ll never be able to tell. The styling of the X-Class gets many of the same styling cues from Mercedes’s SUV lineup, but with a bit more rugged take.
Inside the Stylish Explorer version features a luxurious interior with nubuck leather, white nappa leather and smoked oak trim. The Powerful Adventurer concept gets a more off-road ready interior to match its higher ride height and large off-road tires.
Mercedes-Benz says that the X-Class will go on sale by the end of 2017 in markets like, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. No decision has been made about the U.S. yet.
