If you’ve been holding out on buying the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G550 4×4², you’re time is about to run out. Mercedes-Benz has announced that production of the G550 4×4² will end at the end of October.
With over 17-inches of ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive, three differential locks, and a reduction transfer case the Mercedes-Benz G550 4×4² will be able to take anything that you throw at it. The imposing SUV is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with 422 horsepower and 450 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and the power is sent to the wheels via an all-wheel drive system with 50:50 torque distribution between the axles.
Pricing for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G550 4×4² starts around $275,000 based on the current exchange rates. With the next-generation 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class nearing an introduction, we’ll have to wait and see if Mercedes-Benz creates a successor to the G550 4×4².
