McLaren is going to officially unveil the 600LT this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The McLaren 600LT is the quickest and most powerful model in the Sports Series lineup and McLaren has is now taking orders for it, with pricing starting at $240,000.

The McLaren 600LT is based on the 570S, but almost a quarter of the parts are new for the 600LT, including the awesome top-exit exhaust system. The 600LT is powered a twin-turbocharged 3.8L V8 with 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft. of torque that gives it a 0-62 mph time of 2.9 seconds, which is equal to the McLaren 675LT.

The 600LT is inspired by the McLaren 675LT and the “Longtail” McLaren F1 GTR. Keeping with the “Longtail” tradition, the 600LT features an extended front splitter, lengthened rear diffuser, fixed rear wing and its length is 2.9-inches longer than the McLaren 570S Coupe. The exterior upgrades improve the aerodynamic performance of the 600LT with 220.5 pounds of downforce at 155 mph.

An extensive use of carbon fiber also helps the 600LT come in five pounds lighter than the 570S, bit if you choose the optional Super-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing Seats ($6,060), the 600LT weighs 220.5 pounds less than the 570S Coupe.

If you want to make the 600LT even lighter, you can opt for the MSO Clubsport or MSO Clubsport Pro packs. The MSO Clubsport Pack costs $29,370 and adds the Super-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing Seats, a Carbon Fiber Interior Upgrade, Carbon Fiber Roof and Cantrails, Visual Carbon Fiber Fender Louvres in gloss finish and titanium wheel bolts. The MSO Clubsport Pro Pack is priced at $34,600 and it adds an MSO Defined Harness Bar and 6-Point harness for track use, in either black, blue, red or McLaren Orange.

Buyers can also choose special 5-spoke alloy wheels ($4,950), which are the lightest wheels ever fitted to a Sports Series model.

Production of the 600LT Coupe begins in October and will only last for about a year.
