After teasing us for a few weeks, McLaren has finally revealed its latest model – the McLaren 600LT. The 600lT is now the new flagship in the Sports Series lineup, since it sits above the 570S.
The McLaren 600LT is based on the 570S, but thanks to an extensive use of carbon fiber it comes in much lighter. The 600LT’s body has been extended by 2.9 inches, but the big news is that the 600LT is 211.6 lbs lighter than the 570S.
Compared to the 570S, the 600LT stands out thanks to its unique front splitter, side sills, a longer rear diffuser and a fixed wing. Plus don’t forget the top-exit exhausts. The 600LT will also pack more power than the 570S, since the 3.8L V8 generates 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft. of torque, that’s 30 more hp and 14 more lb-ft. McLaren hasn’t announced the performance specs for the 600LT, but it’s a given that it will be faster than the 570S with its 3.2 seconds 0-62 mph time.
The McLaren 600LT will start rolling off the production line in October, but McLaren has not announced how many it will build or the pricing. McLaren has revealed that the 600LT will be very limited and it only expects to produce it for a year.
