Mazda has announced the pricing for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which is getting a nice list of improvements for the new model year, including more power. The 2019 MX-5 Miata may offer more in terms of power and features, but it also costs a bit more, starting at $25,730, just over $400 more than last year’s model before you throw in the destination fees.
If you missed the announcement, the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata’s 2.0L four-cylinder engine now has an extra 26 horsepower and 3 lb-ft of torque to give it a total 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The four-cylinder is again mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Other upgrades to the 2019 MX-5 Miata, include an available brown soft top for MX-5 Grand Touring models, a tilt/telescoping aluminum steering column, and a standard rearview camera. New safety technology, like Traffic Sign Recognition, lane departure warning and Smart City Brake Support low-speed automatic emergency braking aer also available. A new GT-S Package for 6-speed manual MX-5 Grand Touring models adds a front shock tower brace, limited-slip rear differential and Bilstein dampers.
The 2019 Mazda MX-5 soft top is available in Sport, Grand Touring and Club trim levels, while the MX-5 RF is again only offered in Grand Touring and Club trims. At the top end of the lineup, buyers can also add the Brembo/BBS Package and Brembo/BBS/Recaro Package to MX-5 Club.
