Lucid has announced the pricing for the Lucid Air electric sedan, which starts at $77,400 before the $7,500 federal tax credit. After you apply the credit, that drops the price down to $69,900 before any available state tax incentives.

With a $77,400 starting price that means that on paper the Lucid Air is pricier than the Tesla Model S, which just got a price cut and now starts at $71,990. But it’s worth noting that Tesla vehicles are no longer eligible for the federal tax credit, which means after the credit is applied, the Lucid Air costs $2,000 less than the Model S Long Range Plus.

The base Lucid Air has a driving range of 406 miles and 480 horsepower on tap. The Lucid Air barely squeezes past the base Model S with its 402 mile range.

You can reserve your Lucid Air now for as low as $300 and deliveries of the Lucid Air Dream Edition are slated to begin in early 2021. The Dream Edition packs an insane 1,080 hp and has a 465 mile range, with a starting price at $161,500 after the federal tax credit.
