It seems that the Lincoln Mark LT luxury pickup has failed to meet sales targets. The Lincoln version of the Ford F-150 was launched for the 2006 model year, but as failed to find a following. The latest reports state that the truck will be discontinued after the 2008 model year.
Last year Lincoln only managed to find 12,753 buyers for the truck, which is well below the 20,000 target. Sales are expected to fall even more this year due to the overall decline in the large truck and SUV segment.
Ford is going to redesign the F-150 pickup for 2009 and there will be a new “Platinum” edition, so it makes sense that the Lincoln version will not be continued. Ford can use the extra space in the factory.
