Lexus has released the first teaser of the 2021 Lexus IS, which is going to debut on June 9 at 7 p.m. EDT at a special event on Facebook.

The teaser gives us a preview of the rear of the 2021 IS with its full width taillights, but that’s about it. It’s been reported that the 2021 Lexus IS will not be a complete redo and instead will just be a heavily updated version of the current IS. The 2021 IS will still be based on the current platform, but it is expected to get some suspension and structure updates to improve its driving dynamics.

We will have to wait and see what updates are planned for under the hood, but it’s expected that the current engines will carry over to the 2021 IS. One big report that we’re waiting to hear about it is if an IS 500 is coming. There have been reports that it will be introduced with the either brand’s current naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 or its 416-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6.

Stay tuned.
