Back in 2012 Lexus unveiled the LF-LC concept as a preview of its future design language. The concept was so well received that there have been rumors ever since that a production version could happen. Now the latest report claims that the LF-LC concept will come to life and will revive the SC badge that has been dormant since 2010.

Carsguide apparently received the news from a source at Lexus, who also revealed that when the new SC arrives it will have two powertrain options: a V8 and a V6 hybrid system. The V8 is likely to be the same 5.0L V8 that powers the RC F, but it will generate a bit more power, around 475 horsepower. The V8 will also be mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid system will use a 3.5L V6 and the next-generation of Lexus’ Hybrid Synergy Drive System. It’s predicted that the hybrid system could have around 500 horsepower.
