In order to keep up with its German competition Lexus is planning on launching several new models one of which is a roadster version of the LFA that launched this year. The LFA roadster isn’t expected until after Lexus produces the current production goal of 500 coupes.
Lexus also has plans to redesign its current lineup such as a new IS for the 2013 model year that will share its platform with the new GS that is expected next spring. Lexus currently lacks a seven-seater car based crossover in its lineup, so that model is a possibility. A competitor to the BMW X6 is also being studied that would be based on the same platform as the new GS/ IS.
