Recently Lego has created several special versions of iconic cars, like the James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It even recently released a Bugatti Chiron, but none of them are as cool as its latest creation. Lego has created a new life-size Bugatti Chiron that you can not only sit in, but also drive.
The full-size Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is Lego’s first fully functioning car and is made from 1,000,000 Lego Technic pieces and is powered by 2,304 Lego Power Function motors and 4,032 Technic gear wheels. Don’t expect to see this special Bugatti Chiron running laps on the track anytime soon, since it only has 5.3 horsepower and 67 lb-ft. of torque. That’s enough power to get the 3,300 pound car up to 12 mph.
As you can imagine, it took Lego’s team 13,438 hours to put the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron together.
“When I first saw the Lego Chiron, I was immediately impressed by the accuracy of the model and the minute attention to detail,” stated Andy Wallace, the driver behind the Lego Technic Chiron. “In fact, from about 20 meters away it’s not obvious that you are looking at a Lego car. I can only imagine how much time and effort went into making this model.”
