Last month Porsche unveiled the refreshed 2019 Macan and now it’s announced that production has already started at its plant in Leipzig, Germany. The US won’t get the updated Macan until next year, but production of the 2019 Porsche Macan is currently underway for buyers in China.
China has become one of Porsche’s top markets, which explains why it’s decided to launch the Macan first there. Since 2014, Porsche has sold 100,000 vehicles in China. Porsche hopes to ramp up production of the Macan quickly, since starting next month it hopes to produce at least 420 Macans a day.
If you missed the announcement about the updated 2019 Macan, you’ll notice that the exterior has been updated with the biggest update being a new rear LED light strip that brings the styling of the Macan closer to other models, like the new Cayenne. At the front the 2019 Macan also now comes standard with LED headlights. Inside the 2019 Macan looks more modern thanks to its new 10.9-inch touchscreen, new air vents and the GT sports steering wheel.
