Is Cadillac working on a new coupe? Leaked patent photos show that Cadillac may be working on a new grand touring coupe that could take on models, like the BMW 8 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe. While Cadillac has yet to announce anything, these patent drawings provide a big clue that something is in the works.
Taking cues from the Escala concept, the Cadillac coupe that we see here is sleeker and more stunning than Cadillac’s ATS and CTS coupes. Since Cadillac has only confirmed a new lineup of sedans and crossovers, it’s not entirely known when or if this coupe will become a reality. Some of suggested that it could come to life as a CT5 coupe, but we probably won’t hear anything for a few years.
As of right now the ATS coupe will continue as Cadillac’s only coupe. Cadillac is expected to produce a new flagship based on the Escala concept, but that won’t happen until at least 2022. Before that expect a new three-row crossover, which is likely called the XT6 and replacements for the ATS and CTS sedans.
