Land Rover has confirmed that the Range Rover plug-in hybrid models will debut by the end of this year. Land Rover boss, Ralf Speth recently revealed that both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models will be getting a plug-in hybrid version in the next few months.
Speaking to Motoring, Speth gave a few more details about the Range Rover plug-in hybrid models, including the fact that they will be powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission. We don’t have the full specs yet for the plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it’s rumored that it could generate around 400 horsepower and have an all-electric driving range close to 30 miles on the EU cycle.
Since the Range Rover plug-in hybrid models are confirmed to debut by the end of the year, it’s likely that they will both debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Following their debut, both models will arrive sometime next year as 2019 models.
