Sadly Land Rover no longer sells the iconic Land Rover Defender in the United States, but fans of the SUV still have a chance to get behind the wheel of one. Land Rover has announced the new Land Rover Experience Center Heritage Program, which gives you a chance to drive it off-road in the U.S.

The Land Rover Experience Center Heritage Program celebrates the Defender and Land Rover enthusiasts will be able to experience the vehicle’s off-road abilities first-hand at Experience Centers in California, Vermont, and North Carolina. If you go to one of the Experience Centers, you’ll have the ability to drive the Defender on trails trails driving across grass, mud, ruts, water crossings with a personal coach.

“Recognized as one of our most iconic vehicles, the Defender has conquered some of the world’s most demanding terrain and we are thrilled to be bringing that experience to consumers through the Land Rover Experience Center Heritage Program,” said Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “Brand loyalists and new fans alike now have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a piece of history and continue to celebrate this historic Land Rover icon.”

The experience centers are located at Quail Lodge in Carmel, Calif., Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vt., and the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. The Defender Driving Experience will launch at all three Experience Centers in half-day and full-day programs starting in September. The half-day experience will cost $1,200 and full-day will cost $1,500.
