This week the 2020 Land Rover Defender is having its US debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. Buyers looking to get their hands on the new Defender will be happy to hear that it will start at $49,000, before the destination fees when it arrives next spring.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender will be offered in 90 and 110 bodystyles with the longer Defender 110 being the first model to arrive in the spring. The shorter Defender 90 is slated to arrive in the summer of 2020. The first Defender 90 will be a First Edition launch model with a starting price at $65,100.

Buyers will be able to choose either the base P300, which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 296 horsepower or the more powerful P400, which gets a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 395 hp. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case that sends the power to all four wheels.
