Land Rover has announced the updates to the 2019 Land Rover Discovery, with the biggest updates being the availability of a new twin-turbocharged diesel engine, plus some new tech features.
The 2019 Land Rover Discovery is available with a new 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 302 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. The SDV6 diesel engine accelerates the 2019 Discovery from 0-60 mph in 7.0 seconds and can tow up to 7,700 pounds.
To make sure that the driver and passengers don’t accidentally open the door when other cars or cyclists are approaching, the 2019 Discovery is available with a new Clear Exit Detection system. The system automatically detects if a car, cyclist or other hazard is approaching from the rear and flashes a warning light on the door to alert the vehicle’s occupants.
The Adaptive Cruise Control system now includes stop & go support. The system can now bring the Discovery to a complete stop in traffic and if the traffic moves again within three seconds, the cruise control system will automatically accelerate the vehicle.
