Earlier this month it was reported that Land Rover is going to expand its lineup with the addition of new more car-like model in 2020. Land Rover has yet to confirm it, but it recently trademarked the Road Rover name, which will likely be used for the new car.

According to a report from Autocar, the new “Road Rover” will be based on the same platform as the next-generation Jaguar XJ. While the XJ is a sedan, the Land Rover model will get a more versatile wagon body style, which will be more like a high riding wagon. Think of it as Land Rover’s answer to models like the Audi A4 Allroad.

The Road Rover could also be Land Rover’s first electric car, which is slated to arrive in 2020.

Stay tuned.
