If you’ve been waiting patiently for the release of the new Kia Soul EV, we have a bit of bad news. Kia has confirmed that the new Soul EV won’t arrive until 2021.

2020 Soul EV

When Kia unveiled the new Soul EV last year it was slated to arrive in 2019, but then it got postponed until 2020. Sadly Kia has delayed its arrival again until sometime in 2021, according to a Kia spokesman that confirmed the news to Green Car Reports.

When the new Soul EV does arrive it will have a 243 mile driving range thanks to its 64 kWh battery pack. It can also be recharged up to 80 percent in an hour using a fast charger. Right now the Soul EV’s driving range puts it ahead of models, like the Nissan Leaf Plus and Kia Niro EV, but by 2021 it could have even more competition.
