A few days ago we learned that the pricing for the all-new 2021 Kia Sorento will start at $30,560 and now have the pricing for the greener version, the Sorento Hybrid. CarsDirect is reporting that the pricing for the Sorento Hybrid starts at $34,760, which is a pretty steep premium over the base Sorento.

That price is for the Sorento Hybrid S, while the Hybrid EX trim level starts at $37,760, which is $1,600 over the regular Sorento EX.

The Sorento Hybrid is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that power the front wheels. The Sorento Hybrid has a 37 mpg combined rating, which is a 9 mpg improvement over the regular Sorento.

The first ever Sorento Hybrid will rival the new Toyota Venza, which is only offered with a hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive. On paper the Venza easily beats the Sorento Hybrid with its 39 mpg combined rating and standard AWD, but it only offers two rows of seats. The closer rival is the larger Toyota Hybrid Hybrid, which is rated at 36 mpg combined.
