The Kia Niro lineup is about to get even greener with the introduction of the 2019 Kia Niro EV, which debuted today at the LA Auto Show. The Niro EV is the second fully electric Kia and it can actually drive further than the current Soul EV.

2019 Kia Niro EV

The 2019 Kia Niro EV will arrive in the first quarter of next year and it’s powered by a 201 horsepower electric motor and a 64 kWh battery pack. The Niro EV comes standard with fast charging capability, which lets you add about 100 miles of range in 30 minutes or fill the battery up to 80 percent in 75 minutes.

The 2019 Niro EV will initially only be offered in the 12 states that have adopted the same emissions standards as California. Kia eventually hopes to offer the Niro EV in all 50 states, but right now it can’t build enough to offer it across the US.

Kia has not announced the pricing for the Niro EV.
