Kia is soon going to offer a new four-door sports coupe, which was previewed by the GT concept back in 2011. Production rumors have been circling since the concept debuted and now Kia’s head of product planning, Orth Hedrick has confirmed that an announcement will be made soon.
In a meeting with Drive, Hedrick confirmed that the rear-wheel-drive GT concept is on its way, but then also hinted that the GT4 Stinger coupe concept may not happen.

“The market for a coupe is not strong for the length of time needed to get a return on your investment,” Hedrick stated about the GT4 Stinger. “They don’t do well [in the U.S. market]–they do really, really good for 18 months and then they really fall off.”
There’s still hope that the GT4 Stinger could get the green light, since the project hasn’t been completely dropped.
