It is being reported that Kia will build a production version of the GT concept in 2016.
Back in 2011 Kia surprised everyone at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the aggressive rear-wheel-drive GT Concept. Since then there have been rumors that Kia will put the GT in production, but nothing has been confirmed. Well now it is being reported that Kia will build a production version of the GT concept in 2016.
Kia’s vice-president of overseas marketing, Soon-Nam Lee revealed to Auto Express that the GT concept is in Kia’s future production plans. “We have plans to build a GT. We’ll be mainly targeting the end of 2016 or early 2017.” The GT concept features a four-door coupe-like design and even though the concept sent its power to the rear wheels, Auto Express is now speculating that it will actually be a front-wheel-drive model.
It’s also being reported that Kia is going to unveil a new roadster concept at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January.
