Right now most buyers probably don’t think of Jeep when they’re looking for a “green” SUV, but that will soon change. Jeep as revealed that it intends to electrify its entire lineup by 2022.

According to WhichCar, Jeep global president Christian Meunièr recently told media in New Zealand that Jeep will soon become “the greenest SUV brand in the world” and that the electrified Jeep models will be “the best Jeeps ever.” He also hinted that the electrified Jeeps will be the fastest versions as well.

This means that by 2022, Jeep’s lineup, which will all be offered with either a plug-in hybrid or hybrid powertrain. This includes the upcoming Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models and the next-generation Grand Cherokee.
