Would Jeep buyers want a crossover smaller than the current Jeep Renegade? There’s a new report that claims that Jeep is working on a new model that would be smaller than the Renegade for markets that prioritize mini vehicles – count the United States out.

Automotive News is reporting that the new model could be in Jeep’s future product plans following comments from Jeep boss Mike Manley who stated last year that a smaller crossover would be a “viable segment” for the brand.

There’s no word when the A-segment Jeep could be introduced. For now the Renegade will continue to be the entry-level Jeep. The Renegade is scheduled for a refresh in 2018, which will likely debut as a 2019 model.
