Chrysler is planning on using Fiat’s C-segment platform as the basis for future Jeep models.

The same platform is currently used by the Alfa Romeo Milano. The platform is ideal since it is available in two different lengths and can accommodate a four-wheel-drive system. According to Autocar, Jeep plans to use the platform for upcoming entry-level models developing them as urban city cars with off-road capabilities.

If this report is true Fiat and Chrysler are also planning on building a production line in the US for the Fiat platform.
