A few days ago it was reported that Infiniti is going to release a 2.5L powered G25 for the 2011 model year. At the time it was speculated that the engine would be a turbocharged version, but upon further research from the guys over at Inside Line, the G25 will not get a turbocharged engine. Instead the 2011 G25 will be powered by the same naturally aspirated 2.5-liter V6 Nissan uses in the Japan-market Skyline 250GT.

In Japan the 2.5L puts out 210 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque. Those numbers put it right in the middle of the lesser powered Lexus IS 250 and the BMW 328i, which has 230 horsepower.

At launch the G25 will only be available as a sedan although if sales are strong enough the coupe and convertible could also eventually be offered with the 2.5L.
