Even with the new F-Pace SVR and the possibility of an I-Pace SVR, Jaguar has decided against making an SVR version of the XE sedan. That means that Jaguar has sadly decided against releasing a BMW M3 rival. A spokesperson from Jaguar revealed the sad news to Car and Driver, so if you are looking for a high-performance XE, you’re only option is the very limited XE SV Project 8.
Duncan Smith, senior programs manager for Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division revealed that the division is trying to differentiate itself from BMW M and Mercedes-AMG by customizing its projects more to each individual car. It’s clear that the F-Pace SVR obviously played a role in the decision, since high-performance SUVs are gaining more speed than sedan versions.
There’s no word yet on an SVR version of the Jaguar XF.
