Ford hasn’t released the final specs for the 2015 Ford Mustang, but according to a recent report from Steeda, the new Mustang is 200-300 pounds heavier than the outgoing model.
Who is Steeda? Steeda Autosports makes and sells Mustang parts in addition to parts for other Ford models like the F-Series and Fusion. Steeda recently posted a blog post about the development of the new Mustang, in which they stated that the weight of the new Mustang is up significantly. Generally automakers try to keep the weight of their vehicles down to improve performance and fuel consumption and this bit of news is even worse for a sports car, which is all about speed.
