Hyundai is already working on a new eight-passenger SUV, which might be called the Hyundai Palisade, but is Hyundai working on another SUV? A new report claims that Hyundai is working on a more rugged SUV that would rival the Toyota Land Cruiser.
If the report is accurate, the new rugged Hyundai SUV is at least a few years away. Australian website Car Sales claims that the new big Hyundai SUV will measure 197 inches long, which will make it longer the Toyota Land Cruiser. Other details are scarce right now, so it’s not known if it will share its platform with the Palisade or get its own body-on-frame platform.
Under the hood there are several options, including the turbocharged 3.3L V6 that powers the Kia Stinger and even the 5.0L V8 from the Genesis brand. Given the fact that the rugged SUV will be sold in several markets around the world, a diesel is also likely going to be offered.
Either way we’ll have to wait and see if the report is accurate, but the Hyundai Palisade is expected to be introduced for the 2020 model year.
