Infiniti’s performance models could soon have Mercedes engines under the hood. Infiniti has yet to launch a full fledged performance line like BMW’s M, but that could soon change thanks to help from Mercedes’ AMG line.

According to the latest reports, Infiniti’s Performance Line could eventually include simple styling add-ons to full-on performance upgrades. The upgraded models would be built on the same performance lines, but would be fitted with Mercedes AMG engines. One such engine is Mercedes’ upcoming turbocharged 3.5L V6 that could produce up to 400 hp in the Infiniti G. The IPL version of the M could be powered by AMG’s 6.2L V8.
