Infiniti has unveiled the 2022 Infiniti QX55, which is a more coupe-like small crossover that will compete with the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The stylish crossover improves on the styling of the more conventional QX50 and Infiniti even calls it the “spiritual successor” to the Infiniti FX.

At the front it’s face is similar to the QX50, but it has a sleeker profile to give it a sportier look for buyers that don’t need as much space. It definitely looks more stylish than the QX50 with a sleek profile that also looks more luxurious than its sibling. At the front the face is sportier with a larger grille and more aggressive side air intakes.

Under the hood there will only be one engine to option, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, which is the same as the QX50. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive.

Inside the interior nearly identical to the QX50 and luckily its headroom doesn’t suffer much even with the more sleek roofline. There’s only 1.5-inches less headroom in the back. Cargo space is cut a bit with 26.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, compared to 31.1 cubic feet in the QX50.

The 2022 Infiniti QX55 will arrive in spring 2021 and will be available in three trim levels: Luxe, Essential and Sensory.
